Portland Maine’s SYTHE shapes their black-death-tech-sludge-doom alloys into something that moves like a fever dream: dense, jagged, and acerbically hypnotic. Echoes of the Melvins, early (Classic)Mastodon, Keelhaul, Neurosis, ISIS, Death and others thread through the noise, but the band twists those influences into their own bleak circuitry — corrosive tones illustrating carved-out undercurrents of psychic unraveling.
