Inspired by the amazing world of Italian herbal liqueurs and after more than 2 years in the making we are proud to announce the release of Amaro di Malto! 🥂🥂🥂 This 9.5% mixed-fermentation dark farmhouse ale was made first by adding 22 different herbs, peels & spices to a 10 grain mash. We then aged a portion of the batch in a freshly emptied Eagle Rare Bourbon barrel for 6 months before blending back to the whole. Packaged in 330mL bottles, naturally conditioned with local honey and softly carbonated, we then rested this batch for the better part of a year before release. The result is as the name would suggest, a crazy mash up of worlds. Herbal, piney, dark fruit flavors are balanced by notes of vanilla with citrus undertones with an acidity from our house mixed culture. Available now from our tasting rooms these bottles will be heading out to some of our favorite restaurants, bars and bottle shops over the next few weeks. "Cin Cin!" 🥂🥂🥂 #amarodimalto #oxbowbeer

We had to celebrate @mainewildwinefest by releasing the latest batch of our beer/wine hybrid Blue Noir!

This dry bubbly ale is made by blending Pinot noir grape juice with a blonde farmhouse ale, then rested on Maine blueberry skins for 6 weeks before conditioning in stainless and glass for 6 months. Light & Effervescent, with notes of red fruit and lilacs balanced by tannins and structure from the blueberry. Once again packaged in striking clear glass 750mL bottles, Blue Noir 2023 is now available from our tasting rooms.

One of our favorite signs of Spring are the beautiful red, pink and green stalks of rhubarb decorating local farm stands. Last year we blended a farmhouse wheat beer fermented with brettanomyces with the juice of the 2022 rhubarb harvest for a delightful beer we call Amorous .❤️ 🩷 💚 Released for only the second time, and for the first in bottles, Amorous is a bone dry ale with notes of champagne, strawberry, cotton candy and spring herbs.
