OLD 51 – 5.5% farmhouse ale with rye
Old 51 is an amber farmhouse ale brewed with rye. As a nod to American rye whiskey production, we use 51% rye in our grain bill and ferment and keg-condition this beer with our house saison yeast. Light amber in color with notes of earth, spice, bananas, and citrus, with a fully body and dry finish.
OLDER 51 – 7% barrel-aged farmhouse ale with rye
Older 51 is a mixed-fermentation farmhouse ale brewed with rye and aged in rye whiskey barrels. We split off a portion of last year’s batch and aged it for 12 months in freshly-emptied rye barrels with our house mixed culture. Amber in color with full notes of toasted oak, baking spice, lemon peel, and whiskey with a bright acidity and a dry finish.
